What’s the most profound, insightful, or interesting thing you’ve learned as a mental health professional?

The most profound insight that I have learned as a mental health professional is to treat the client (person) no as a patient, rather as a person that is in need of help as they work to find their way.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

As a therapist I am a no nonsense individual that when given the task, is fully focused and determined to assist those that seek out my help.

In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?

My personality influences my approach to therapy in that I bring to the table an abundance of life experiences. I am a very warm, genuine, passionate, caring, easy going and inviting therapist. As a result I am skilled in working with a person in their current life situations, while teaching and helping them to move productively forward in their lives.

Work History

I began my counseling career in a crisis faculty for substance abuse and mental health. During my tenure there I was very fortunate to develop a strong foundation that was built around, empathy, compassion, trust and being genuine. My work allowed me to experience and be exposed to all types of suffering and needs. Through it all I left there with the premise of understanding the importance of respecting others no matter what their situation maybe. I was proud of my successes and learned from my failures. Overall my primary goal was to help others achieve positive changes in their lives. As a result of this view in I became a very successful counselor in a community setting. Today I continue living my dreams of helping others in an independent and private practice.
